In this video, you can see and hear (!) pups who are very happy nursing. Iska prefers to nurse while sitting up. Does not look comfortable to me, but both she and pups say it works!

It's been a long time since we've seen such tiny puppies nursing!!!! Brings back so many memories! :o) So sweet.

ReplyDeleteSo are you not having their tails docked? Or going all natural... Mark and Heather were invited to go to Crufts with Prada and Tres... but can't complete due to their Docked/Cropped status... seems unfair... Love your blog!! Makes me happy to visit!

Pups are docked now, sadly. I love their tails and do like standard schnauzers all natural (as well as docked/cropped or docked/natural). Perhaps someday, all natural standard schnauzers will be more accepted in U.S. show rings. I have been interested to see that there are companion owners who want the natural tail and inquire if I will leave one. I have done this with pups and, depending on the litter, would do it again.
ReplyDeleteHow great for Mark and Heather to be invited to Crufts. Too bad they could not compete. There were some docked dogs (with natural ears) shown at Crufts, but if a dog was under 2 yrs, it had to be all natural.
